About me:
I was born in Iceland and dogs and horses have always been a part of my life. My father was a horse conformation judge and as a child I loved to accompany him to his judging appointments and discuss the horses with him afterwards. As well as following the family tradition of riding and breeding horses, I was the caretaker of our dogs. And there I found my true-life passion.
I got my first Australian shepherd in 2008 and today I have a small breeding of Aussies and Shetland sheepdogs. I am the former president of the Icelandic Kennel Club and today I serve on the club’s judges education committee and legal committee. I was proud to be awarded the gold pin of the DKK in 2021 and honorary membership of the IKC in 2022.
I am currently a member of the FCI-Europe Section board, where I want to participate in campaigning against the false information, deliberately spread, that pure-bred dogs are unhealthy and that some breeds ought to be banned based on animal protection. As a dog lover I feel the need to fight against this wrongdoing and help to promote pedigree dogs under the virtue of health and welfare.
I judge various breeds in group 1 and I am a candidate to become a group judge. In addition, I am approved to judge some breeds in group 5, 8 & 9.
